Question 1 – Organic Modelling (40 marks)
In this practical question, employ or use any modelling techniques you have learned so far to
model this keychain character “Chilli Boy”. You are to submit 3 work-in-progress blender
files showing your modelling stages from beginning to end.
The final model must have basic materials applied to various parts. The model is to be
properly lit with lights and composed before rendering. Render at least 2 images of your
completed Model and submit. (Images at a minimum of 1920 x 1080 resolution and JPG
format)

Question 2 – Hard Surface Modelling (60 marks)
Using the Blender Mesh modelling techniques, construct a classic push tin toy “Rocket
Racer” to resemble the one below in the sample images. Unwrap the UV coordinates and
project the logos of your choice (obtain from the internet) onto the model. Submit your blend
files with 3 work-in-progress blend files and also include 2 rendered images of the completed
Rocket Racer.
You may use the images below as modelling reference. Additional reference photos may be
found by searching for “Rocket Racer Tin Toy”.
Points are awarded for model accuracy, application of UV mapping and materials.

Marking and Submission Criteria
Marks are awarded based on the ability of the student to use Blender to effectively model
the target models in the questions.
Students are required to submit all the “.blend” files (to be renamed to
studentname_TMA_Q1.blend for Question 1 and studentname_TMA_Q2.blend for Question
2) for questions 1 and 2. Work in progress files are to be named as
studentname_TMA_Q1_WIP01.blend and so on.
Rendered images JPEG or PNG must be included in the zipped files.
To facilitate ease of submission, all files are to be zipped together as a single archive zip file
named in the following fashion (yourname_MTD201_TMA.zip). Once the files are saved,
upload to Canvas.
