Introduction

In this assignment, I have come up with carpark management system using the Microsoft access database. The objective of the system is to allow for subscription of seasoned ticket holders to enable them reduce on the amount they spend on parking fees; 2) to speed up parking process so as to limit the time taken when parking, hence reducing traffic congestion; 3) to provide management with accurate financial reports that can give insight into the performance of the business.

Problem statement 

As the number of cars grows, there is an ever increasing need for more carparks. In urban areas, car parking has become a serious problem both in the developing and developed countries. There is a rapid increase in the number of people that own cars and the need for an effective car park management system has become ever more important. With effective car parks managed by well-designed systems, it would become easy to reduce traffic jams and save time. Having a working system will help in have an organized land use that improves planning and correct calculation of space requirements. The most common everyday problems include high parking tariffs, congestion due to mismanagement of space, and inadequate parking spaces.
