Brief: Northants Childcare provides childcare for school/pre-school children in Northampton and is looking to computerise its system for managing the day-to-day operations. The current paper-based system includes the following functionalities: A carer/parent contactsthe nursery to enquire about availability of a place for his/her child for specific sessions in a week. The childcare administrator checks manually using paper-based records and informs the carer/parent about the availability. To admit a child into the nursery, the carer/parent needs to submit a completed registration form (including name, address, birthdate, allergy information, contact details of parents, required sessions, etc.) together with a non-refundable £25 registration fee. All fees are charged one term in advance and are due 2 weeks from the invoice date. One calendar year is divided into six terms (for example, see the Northamptonshire school term dates for 2020-21). Any arrears will be charged at £5.00 per week until balance is cleared. Fees are payable during periods of absence from childcare (e.g. due to sickness). Carers/Parents dropping children early or collecting them late from the nursery will be subject to a surcharge of £10 for every 5 minutes over arranged time slots.
